Abstract
Photochemical oxidative activities of fluorescent substances produced by Aspergillus were investigated. It was demonstrated that the substances promote the oxidation of Dopa to melanin as well as that of several amino acids by irradiation like riboflavin and other pterins. In this experiment Fe^<2+> and Cu^<2+> possibly form complexes with fluorescent substances to overcome lag period in oxidation.
