The Effects of the Glucocorticoid on the Metabolism of Vitamin B_2 of Young Albino Rats : (II) FAD SYNTHETIC ACTIVITY OF ADRENALECTOMIZED AND TREATED WITH PREDNISOLON RAT LIVER

Abstract

Measurement of FAD synthetic activity of young rat liver was carried out. 1) FAD synthetic activity of adrenalectomized rat liver was significantly suppressed as well as those treated with prednisolone 8mg/kg/day for 16 days. 2) Those reduction was not recoverd by the treatment of B_2. 3) FAD synthetic activity was not affected when prednisolone was added into FAD synthetizing reaction system. 4) Reduction of hepatic concentration of FAD which was caused by the continuous use of prednisolone, was not recoverd by the treatment of B_2.
