Abstract
A sensitive and specific method for the determination of menadione sodium bisulfite (MSB) in animal diet and premixes was developed by using high-per-formance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with chemical reduction and fluorometric detection. MSB was converted into menadione (vitamin K_3) itself prior to HPLC analysis and then determined by using an HPLC method. The detection limit of MSB was 2ng/g in animal diet and premixes. Moreover, vitamin K_1 in animal diet and premixes was also determined by using a previous HPLC method.
