Abstract
Studies of digital museum are making progress in the various fields. Especially, in case of preserving 3D objects, it is necessary to take digital photographs at various angles. Thus, the amount of data becomes huge and a data compression technique should be introduced for archiving them. Moreover, in order to represent art works faithfully, a lossless coding scheme is indispensable. This paper addresses a bidirectional prediction method using motion compensation and rotation compensation for the image sequence of a cylindrical object taken by rotating it on a turntable. As a result of the experiment, the proposed method can reduce the entropy compared with using only motion compensation.
