Abstract
It is very important to control the bit-rate for video communication under a limited capacity of communication channel like wireless communication system because of large amount of data. From this point of view, an adaptive pre-filter to improve the bit-rate in video compression has been proposed, which preserves visually significant portion of the original image and smoothes only insignificant portion actively. In this paper, we propose three kinds of temporal extension of this scheme and verify their perfomance on compression ratio and visual image quality.
