In this review, the involvement of active human perception mechanisms are examined in relation to perceived reality by depth perception as an example. Each of the cue systems for depth perception has its own. The limitation is especially strong among the graphical cues. Even binocular disparity cue system is not free from the limitation. The depth system overcomes such limitations by incorporating constraints reflecting the structures of physical, and by embodying interactions among cue systems and from top-down information.
