【Invited Lecture】Light-field optics and Reconstruction of Conditions of Rays in Air

－Transformation between 3D light space and Light-field data on 2D plane－

Abstract

Theorem of light field optics is introduced and discussed. And unique features of the light field applications are shown and explained in this paper. It can be said that a light field device is a kind of instruments which transform information between 3D objects in air and coded data called light field data on 2D plane. So from these coded data on 2D plane a light field display reconstructs volume 3D images in air. This also means that it is not necessary that display plane and reconstructed image are optically conjugated.
