Abstract
We have been researching and developing a spatial image reconstruction method without the use of special glasses, aiming to realize diverse viewing styles in the future and offer new experiences beyond anything television has ever provided. Focusing on holography, which enables deeper depth reconstruction, the density of spatial light modulator (SLM) devices has been increased. Since a viewing zone angle of at least 30° is considered necessary for practical use, we proposed magneto-optical SLMs that can realize a device with a pixel pitch of 1 μm or less, and repeated prototyping and evaluation. In this paper, we report on our past research and development on magneto-optical SLMs.
