By using the ship model hull N-S. 1 (L=2.55m) which is geometrically similar to Nowacki-Sharma's mathematical model (L=4.5m), several experiments are performed in order to grasp the effect of the free surface on the propulsive performance. They are resistance test, propeller open test, self-propulsion test, wake measurement in the propeller plane, wave analysis and wake analysis. Then we try to elucidate the free surface effect by the theoretical calculations developed in the first report. Experimental results are qualitatively explained by theoretical ones.
