J.L. Hess proposed an integral formula to give the viscous resistance of an rotational body approximately in turbulent region and tried to obtain low drag shape. Succeeding his way, the authors obtain the condition to minimize the resistance by variational calculus, propose and carry out numerical computation to obtain optimum body shape. The optimum shape is nearly a parabola and its resistance becomes a little larger than that of the ellipsoid.
