Abstract
In order to clarify the mechanism of interaction between ship hull and hydrofoils attached below the keel, we firstly conducted the resistance test of Wigley model up to Froude No. 1.20 at a few towing conditions and secondly compared the residual resistance with the wave resistance computed by a Rankine Source method (KU-method) taking into account the sinkage and trim. After confirming the availability of numerical method, we lastly investigate the interaction between Wigley model and tandem hydrofoils using numerical calculation and show some interesting phenomena.
