Abstract
The crystal structure of tetraacetyl fluorescein hydrazide (FHTA) was determined by X-ray diffraction. This compound crystallized in the monoclinic, space group P21/n with a = 8.889(2)Å, b = 14.379(3)Å, c = 19.920(5)Å, β = 96.629(4)°, V = 2529.0(10)Å3, Z = 4. The final R value was 0.0927 for 3189 reflections [I > 2σ(I)]. The dihedral angle between the xanthene and spirolactam rings systems is 87.45(4)°. Also, the xanthene scaffold is bent due to acetylation, and the end rings of xanthene are inclined to each other at an angle of about 21.52(8)°.
