Abstract
The structure of 1,3,5-trimethyl-5-phenyl-2,4,6(1H,3H,5H)-pyrimidinetrithione was determined by X-ray crystallography. The phenyl ring exists in an axial position of the 2,4,6(1H,3H,5H)-pyrimidinetrithione ring. The pyrimidine-trithione ring system exhibits conjugation involving the lone pairs on the N atoms and three C=S bonds. Intermolecular C-H…S interactions and S…S contacts were observed in the crystal lattice.
