The crystal structure of 2,6-di(ethylurea)pyridine, determined by X-ray diffraction methods, crystallizes in a monoclinic space group, P21/c, with the following unit cell parameters: a = 12.6800(5)Å, b = 8.1730(5)Å, c = 12.9490(9)Å, β = 93.602(2)°, V = 1339.30(13)Å3 and Z = 4. The structure is stabilized by N-H…O, N-H…N, and C-H…O hydrogen bonds. The alteration of alkyl chain length contributes to the formation of different intriguing layered structure, and a slight influence on the hydrogen-bonding network.
