ヒメヒカゲCoenonympha oedippus arothiusに関する観察記録-2

抄録

1) A green pupa of Coenonympha oedippus arothius, was found in the field in Kakogawa-city in Hyogo prefecture. It was hung from its tail end on the withered cane of Pleioblastus fortunei at the position of about 10 cm of height above the ground. The wing part of the pupa showed dark brown in color and it seemed to emerge within tow days. 2) Female adult of C. o. arothius emerged at 7:45 a.m. on the next day and we could record all course of the emerging on a video camera in the field. It is probably the first time to have recorded such progress in the field. 3) Judging from our several observations, the emerging from the pupa was considered to vary in time from before sunrise to afternoon. 4) We could observe the behavior of adult butterfly to probe a flower of Rosa multiflora for nectar extending the proboscis. 5) We could shoot ovipositional moment by a female butterfly of C. o. arothius onto the leaf of R. fujiana in the field with a video camera and record it. 6) Five kinds of food plants: Carex blepharicarpa, C. lanceolata, C. conica, Rhynchospora fujiana, and R. alba for caterpillars of C. o. arothius were confirmed in the field in Kakogawa-city.
