Abstract

Mechanisms of aggregation-induced enhanced emission of iridium(III) complexes have been proposed by Chinese and Korean groups, however, they have conflicted each other. The former group suggested an importance of a new energy level of 3MLLCT arising from the π–π stacking between the ligands, in contrast, the latter attributed the enhanced emission to the restriction of molecular motion in the solid state. Which mechanisms do you think is more likely?
