Abstract
1, 1-Di-p-fluorophenyl-2-p-methoxyphenyl-, 1, 2-di-p-fluorophenyl-1 p-methoxyphenyl-, 1, 1-di-p-methoxyphenyl-2-p-fluorophenyl-and 1, 2-di-p-methoxyphenyl-1-p-fluorophenylethylenes have been prepared from the corresponding 1, 1, 2-triarylethanols, which were synthesized by at least two independent routes. Procedures for preparing the necessary intermediates, such as α-p-fluorophenyl p-methoxyacetophenone, α-p-methoxyphenyl-p-fluoroacetophenone and p-fluorop'-methoxybenzophenone, are also described.
