Abstract
Synthesis of p (or in) -aminobenzoylmelamines by reduction of the corresponding nitro derivatives with the following methods were investigated : a, zinc-ammonium chloride ; b, iron-acetic acid ; c, catalytic reduction by palladium-carbon catalyst. Method a, b or c was used for N-p-aminobenzoylmelamine (1) and method b or c was used for N-m-aminobenzoylmelamine (2), N, N′-di-p-aminobenzoylmelamine (3) and its m-isomer (4); better results were obtained by use of method b. N, N′, N″ tri-p-aminobenzoylmelamine (5) and its m-isomer (6) were obtained by method b. The amino derivatives (1) (6) were new compounds not previously reported in the literature. Acid dyes having simple structures were synthesized using (1) and (2) as diazo components and the dyeing-abilities of their methylol compounds for cotton and rayon were investigated.
