Abstract
This review deals with various image-forming compounds for instant (diffusion transfer) color photography. The processes of the dye-image formation are discussed in terms of dye-releasing or dye-stopping mechanisms. Dyes containing sulfonamide group, temporaily-shifted dye moieties, and after-chelating dye moieties are described. Other organic components, such as electron transfer agents, nucleating agents, oxidized developer scavengers, indicator dyes having high pKa values, etc., are also disclosed.
