Slow Reacting Substances of Anaphylaxis (SRS-A) which comprises of leukotrienes C4, D4 and E4 plays an important role in eliciting the symptoms of asthma. Since the discovery of the leukotrienes, many analogs have been synthesized in order to explore the relationships between the structure and biological activities.
This review will focus on the leukotriene derivatives and the development of leukotriene antagonists.
