抄録

1. If cross section bars are used to connect the longitudinal members through the transverse bulkhead, construction at that part will become the simplest and most reasonable, as shown in Fig. 2. 2. If cross section bars are used to connect the longitudinal and transverse bulkheads, construction at that part will become the simplest, and most perfectly watertight, as shown in Fig. 5. 3. If cross section bars are used as the stiffeners of the longitudinal and transverse bulkheads, the majority of the bulkhead plates will become smaller and same sized ; this fact will facilitate the handling and multiple drilling of the plates, and the bracket connections will become most convenient, as shown in Fig. 5. 4. It is the writer's opinion that the manufacturing of the cross section bars by rolling process is not impossible.
