The therapeutic efficacy of neutron fields for BNCT generated by proton energies near the threshold of the 7Li(p,n) reaction were evaluated using the TPD as the index of evaluation. THe HCP dose rate to tumor was likewise used as figure of merit in order to consider practical requirements of BNCT irradiations and accelerator configurations.
Geometrical effects due to the size of activation foils on the accuracy of detector efficiency has been estimated through calibration and comparison with measurements of 56Fe(n,p)56Mn reaction rates from irradiated (252Cf ) iron foils.
The determination of reactivity using alternative method, neural networks has been verified for C-CR withdrawal tests at power level of 9MW, 15MW, and 18MW. The neural network application has demonstrated for pre-test analysis and online reactivity determination as reference data for reactivity anomaly detection. The verification shows the best architecture of neural network that proposed for advanced online application.
