A-SMGC (Advanced Surface Movement Guidance and Control) system is an integrative system for enhancing safety and efficiency of surface movement operation on airports. A-SMGC system has a routing function which automatically generates recommended aircraft's taxiing paths and provides them to Air Traffic Controllers for supporting their decisions.

This paper describes trajectories of taxiing in Tokyo International Airport that have been assigned by ground controllers and obtained from multilateration experiments. Relationship is analyzed between wind direction and traffic on four major taxiways connecting east and west runways. Tendency of path assignment in the airport is also investigated. The results showed that different taxiways are used by wind direction and that the direction of taxiing becomes opposite by wind direction. The tendency has also been found that the shortest taxiing paths are assigned as much as possible while taking into account the spot location, using runway, wind direction and taxiway restrictions. These trajectories of taxiing are expected to help generate appropriate paths suiting to controller's intent.
