A golden metallic luster was observed from crystal violet immobilized inside a Nafion sheet. By stretching this sheet, the degree of polariza- tion of the reflected light was reduced. As a result of comparing the change in the degree of polarization due to stretching using different pig- ments, it was concluded that the reflected polarization characteristic of the crystal violet is related to the randomness of the direction of the transition dipole moment.
