    The information of foods overflows nowadays. Consumers are always in the situation that they couldn't make a right choice due to the information uncertainty of foods. Thus, consumers are thought to be in inferior positions. This study focuses on the improvement of current situation of foods information. Under the framework of the viewpoint on detachment between the reality and image of foods, this study utilizes questionnaire survey and in-store survey for the purpose that clarifying how Chinese vegetables are used in restaurants and supermarkets in Yamaguchi city. According to the questionnaire survey, this study shows that consumers usually have no awareness of the producing area of foods, and mistake the overseas foods for the domestic ones. It means that the detachment between the reality and image of foods exists for the consumers. Meanwhile, according to the in-store survey, Chinese vegetables are merely traded in the supermarkets in Yamaguchi city. Foods, which are used in the restaurant in Yamaguchi city, are also hardly found in the supermarkets in Yamaguchi city. Following the results of questionnaire and in-store survey, we discuss the inferior positions of consumers under the following two points, insufficient information and limited information. Furthermore, this study discusses the improvement of this situation.
