In dental check-ups, the appropriate dental formula is written from the examiner’s utterances, but there are cases in which the formula is miswritten due to factors such as the variety of utterances. To address this, we developed a new system that automatically generates dental charts from the examiner’s spoken words by leveraging ChatGPT’s language understanding and processing capabilities.

 We employed ‘Whisper’ for transcribing the utterances and ‘ChatGPT’ to create a program for formulating the dental charts. The initial prompts were based on a variety of utterances identified in a questionnaire survey, referencing the Periodontal Disease Examination Manual 2023. Seventeen dentists participated, each providing three simulated dental chart utterances to test the system’s accuracy. The results demonstrated an average accuracy of over 92％, indicating that the underlying system was established.
