From Feb.1988 to Apr.1989,129 patients with breast cancer were examined by thermography.18 cases of them, which were incorrectly diagnosed on the basis of our diagnostic criteria on static and dynamic breast thermography, have been analyzed using the pathophysiological functional thermal image (named p -value thermal image) processing system developed to improve thermographic diagnosis by cooling stress. Among 12 cases with negative thermograms and 6 cases with high thermal areas on the contralateral side,4 cases and 4 cases, respectively, were corrected by the processing system. There might exist some factors which can distinguish between the corrected and incorrected cases by the processing system, but no factor for it has as yet been found. The present processing system has involved several problems to be improved, but was found to be significant in the diagnosis of breast thermography.
