We seldom find enough data to calculate performance of any helicopter in the flight manual, aircraft magazines and the alike. We have, however, many occasions to estimate its performance. Verifying by sample calculations, some methods are discussed herein for performance estimation to be useful under those situations, especially for equivalent flat area of parasite drag, relations between the best climb speed and the maximum range speed, and those between hovering limit in ground effect and that out of the effect.
