In recent years, there has been a growing interest in sports community development, and many local governments are engaged in such projects. It has been reported that social capital built through sports can contribute to wellbeing, but this relationship has not been fully understood yet. On the other hand, in the field of public health, studies on loneliness have been advanced, and its relationships with social capital or life satisfaction have been examined. Thus, the purpose of this study was to clarify the relationship among experience of participation in projects, social capital from sports community development, loneliness, and life satisfaction. Data were collected from residents in Anan City, Tokushima Prefecture, where community development through baseball has been promoted. The results of structural equation modeling indicated that experience of participation in projects was indirectly positively associated with life satisfaction through social capital from sports community development and loneliness.
