Bending test is often used as one method of evaluating the quality of welded joints. Its bend evaluation criteria are sometimes determined based on the minimum elongation value of the welded base metal standard, and this is becoming the mainstream.

However, this does not take into account the specificity of the joint and may not be able to evaluate the bending properties of the welded joint, which is considered problematic.

In this report, I focused on the chemical composition of the weld metal as one of the peculiarities of welded joints, and worked on a method to clarify the relationship between the chemical composition and bending properties, and then to establish bending evaluation criteria.

As a result, it has been verified that this method seems to lead to appropriate bending evaluation criteria. And further improvement of the accuracy of this method is expected in the future.
