[Objective] The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences in isometric hip abduction muscle strength, hip muscle thickness, and muscle echo intensity between good and poor movement control during one-leg standing among healthy participants. [Methods] A total of 13 male healthy subjects with 26 limbs were divided into two groups: good and poor movement control during one-leg standing. The outcomes of isometric hip abductor strength, muscle thickness, and muscle echo intensity were compared between the two groups, and the effect sizes were calculated. [Results] No significant differences were observed in isometric hip abduction muscle strength, hip muscle thickness, and muscle echo intensity in each group (P<0.05), and effect sizes greater than moderate were not detected. [Conclusion] This study suggested that isometric hip abductor muscle strength, muscle thickness and muscle luminosity may not be significantly related.
