The purpose of this paper is to identify the teaching materials in the national and performing arts subjects that are intended to be related to the science and mathematics subjects in kokumingakko textbooks, and to clarify the characteristics of the composition of these materials. In this paper, the teaching material on “village” was analyzed from the viewpoints of “types of teaching materials” and “order of teaching materials”. As a result, the following two findings were obtained. First, the teaching materials on “village” were intended to capture their hometown from various perspectives. The teaching materials included content related to hometowns and were intended to deepen children's understanding of their own communities. Second, the teaching materials on “village” were arranged in such a way that they were treated at the same time or close to the same time in each grade level. The scope of discussion expanded from neighborhoods to villages as the grades progressed, with the first grade covering the geography of the village, the third grade touching on the village population, number of houses and buildings, and the fourth grade drawing a map of the village, thereby deepening the children's understanding of their hometown.
