In order to effectively use of around 100℃ waste heat, a new material for a chemical heat storage (CHS) system using the calcium chloride hydrate (CaCl_2・nH_2O) was developed. Calcium chloride was mixed with expanded graphite (EG) aiming to increase its thermal conductivity, durability and formability. The reaction kinetics was investigated by thermogravimetric analysis. Mixing with EG increased hydration rate of CaCl_2. The optimum weight ratio of (CaCl_2・2H_2O) /EG was 8. Compression in tablet figure was effective for increase of the thermal storage density. Thus, mixing with EG and compression was found to enhance thermal performance of calcium chloride in the CHS system.

Factors of maritime accident are considered to be characterized by environmental influences such as fog and tides. In this study, focusing on these environments, we classified accidents that occurred in some different environments sea areas. Based on the result of these classification, effects of these environment were discussed.

It is know that graphene has high mechanical properties and chemical corrosion resistance. Therefore, it is expected to add graphene into polymer as a reinforcement and a corrosion resistant material. However, graphene is expensive and it is not cost-effective material. In order to reduce the cost of graphene, efficient production method is required. In this study, liquid exfoliation of graphite was adopted for mass production of few-layer graphene. Here the concept of ideal exfoliation method, and the machine that realize the concept are discussed. The productivity for proposed method exceed 3 g/h, which is the best value is lab-scale trial.
