In the assembly that terminals such as relays and switches are press-fit, it is important to dimensional stability and a holding force after assembly of the terminal. However, due to plastic deformation at press-fit, the position of the terminal fluctuates in the press fit assembly of the terminal. Therefore, there are concern about degradation of product quality such as operating characteristics and contact reliability of contact point. In this study, concerning the press-fitting assembly of contact terminal for relay, our aim is to satisfy contradictory characteristic value which is the position and the holding force of terminal. Based on the results of parametric design for real sample, we tried to correct the level of significant factors affecting holding force, discussed those results.
