The purpose of this study was to make criteria for observational evaluation of the basic movements on the horizontal bar of first to fourth grade
elementary school children. We evaluated the movements of actual
elementary school children according to these criteria and were able to examine the characteristics of the children’s movements.
We chose four most basic movements on the horizontal bar of the elementary school.
1) Inverted hang putting both legs on bar in cross, to front and by bent arms
2) Front support on bar
3) Inverted hang putting the region under navel on bar
4) Inverted hang putting both knees on bar.
We made these criteria from the viewpoints of overall impressions and various body regions.
The main results were as follows:
These criteria were shown to be reliable and objective in overall impressions and various body regions. Furthermore, The data of four basic movements showed almost normal distribution in overall impressions.
