This is a report on the workshop aimed at extracting and organizing issues for creating a “future image” of coastal forest on a nationwide scale. As a result, issues of hardware perspectives (perspectives of natural science) such as planting, land development and management which were under discussions in 2021 as well as software perspectives (social scientific perspectives) such as “thinking about coastal forests” based on the keywords of disaster prevention function, biodiversity and connection with communities, organization of related materials and information and necessity of sending correct information were presented.
