1) The conjunctiva in 30 cases of Meniere's disease were observed magnifying 25_??_40 times and compared with that of 30 healthy persons.
2) Tendency for constriction, dilatation or irregularity of blood vessels, lumpy flow of blood, and blood sludge (though slight in degree), were observed in the former group but not in the latter.
3) Even when the above changes were not observed in all, some of them were observed in most cases.
4) In addition to the above, stagnation or backward moving or stases of blood flow, and remarkable blood sludge were observed in some cases.
5) When adrenalin was dropped in the eyes, the cases with Meniere's disease showed more sensitive reaction than that in the healthy persons.And more deviation in the severity of the reaction was observed in the former group than in the latter.
6) The difference between the above changes in the cases of Meniere's disease in the attack and also in the intermittent stage were studied in three cases.In all cases, more severe reaction for adrenalin eye drops was observed when they were in attack.

Nihon University(Director:Prof.S.Nakamure) The authors investigated the effects of tonsillectomy on protein metabolism. 1.Nitrogen balgance becomes nenative after tonsillectomy, but it becomes positive within 3 to 5 days. 2.Following to the tonsillectomy, the variation of serum protein level and non protein nitrogen level is not remarkable. 3.Effect of the tonsillectomy on the body is not remarkable as far as the nitrogen balance is concerned.

Research and development to introduce remote sensor technologies for observing the ground surface from the sky are being promoted in the construction field. Recently, the application of UAV to construction sites and other projects for improving social infrastructure is thriving. In i-Construction promoted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport it is common to perform the three-dimensional measurement of the ground surface exposed during earth work using three-dimensional data created from UAV images.

Under such circumstances, the authors have been working on the “current status observations” and “construction progress management” to observe the daily condition of the construction site, and are developing the “shape control” technology to apply UAV to three-dimensional measurement of daily changing ground surface. The management of the construction site is the on-site staff responsibility and has been labor demanding so far, therefore efforts have been made to improve productivity. In this paper, a case where UAV image based three-dimensional modeling is applied to “shape control” technology is described, and case examples of utilizing UAV presented from the viewpoint of work efficiency improvements are presented.

The purpose of this study was to investigate how the posture during bathtub bathing affects the body and mind. Although many studies discussed comfort and safety of bathing, little has been studied from the perspective of biomechanics and neuroscience. In our two experiments, we manipulated bathers' posture and measured changes in biomechanical loads (torque at joints) and cerebral blood flow in frontal brain regions. Additionally, we also collected subjective evaluation of physical relaxation for each posture. The results of experiments with male subjects in the 20 s to 30 s showed that extending legs, in comparison to flexing legs, induced a physically relaxed state, which was revealed by subjective evaluation. Furthermore, we found significant decrease of joint torque in the ankle and hip and a significant increases of joint torque in the knee when legs were extended than when flexed. Our measurements indicated inhibition of neural activity in the left ventrolateral prefrontal region during leg extension. These results motivate further exploration of the possibility that physical relaxation with a less confined bathing posture may induce “liberation from verbal thinking”.

The Amended Act on the Protection of Personal Information (Amended PIPA) requires medical information to be handled more securely. In large medical institutions, most medical information is stored in medical information systems. If the designed systems satisfy all the needs of using the medical information, there is no need to export clinical information from these systems. However, export of data is necessary for various purposes including research, public health and regional cooperation. Therefore, we investigated, constructed and evaluated a clinical information export environment in compliance with the Amended PIPA. Requirements for the export environment are as follows. 1. Only the data administrator can save or export data. 2. Depending on the type of data and the purpose of use, differences in criteria are established. 3. A correspondence table for pseudonymization is managed. The constructed export environment consists of the following elements:1. a server-based computing (SBC) environment, 2. a file transfer system, and 3. an image export system. By operating and evaluating the constructed export environment, we verified that the environment permits export of clinical information in compliance with the Amended PIPA.
