A questionnaire survey is made on impression of landscape scenes including a bridge. 7 photographs which include bridges are used for the survey. In addition, to secure the accuracy of the survey, 8 dummy photos with no bridges are also examined together with the photos of bridges. In the survey, first, overall impressiveness of each scene is examined, then up to three impressive objects in each photo are enumerated. The survey is made for 96 testees, and the impressiveness is evaluated into 4 grade of “very good”, “good”, “poor” and “very poor”. The results of the survey indicate that the almost testees mention the bridge as impressive objects in all photos, even if the bridge occupies very small area in the photo. When a bridge has the null background, the testees notice the dimension of the bridge rather than its color, although the shape or color is noticed with the complicated background. The results also indicate that the almost testees evaluate the bridge as “very good” or “good” impression, even if the overall impression of the photo is “poor”.
