As the appellation of Akashi no Amagimi has been changed, her behavioral philosophy is also seemingly changed in the narrative. This paper attempts to examine the controversial structure which the Akashi family has by focusing on the change of appellation of Akashi no Amagimi, as well as the expressive words used in the Waka poems 'Kahiaru' and 'Kahinashi' as a lead, finding that Akashi family consisted of two types: rational (political) people and emotional (family-oriented) people. Uniting these two controversial characteristics together, and with each of them playing a complement role for the other, Akashi family quietly builds up their own glory in the narrative.
