"Life isn't always what one likes." Even if we've never met Princess Ann, we know that not many things in life go our ways. In fact, no matter how hard we try, we cannot eliminate this sense of uncontrol. However, in this paper, we see this "difficulty of perfect control of our lives" as a major factor that brings a positive impact on society. To prove my point, I will first introduce the fact that in Japanese school, this "difficulty of perfect control of our lives" has been used as a tool of cultivating character, specifically, improving self-management skills and altruism mind. We then demonstrate that these tools ultimately have a positive impact on society. Finally, from the perspective of philosophy and ethics, I will argue that it is precisely because life isn't always what one likes that people can become humble.
