The purpose of this study is to understand the land ownership repertory of the lords in the Zenkouji-Temple District. The territory of Zenkouji-cho is divided into two lords, Daihongan and Daikojin. In the late 17th century, the territory of Daihongan, which covered only the residences of temple vassals, was concentrated in crossroads, near which the markets were set up, indicating that the vassals enjoyed the benefits of the market. However, in the mid-19th century, the Daihongan territory began to include the residences of townspeople. It can be said that Daihongan managed her own fiefs.
