    The infant notices a lot of things and moves the heart through a relation with nature. In this research, we figured out the present situation of the natural experience with Five Senses at kindergarten and nursery center. As a result, experience through five senses of spring and summer is very active at a large number of kindergartens, but there are few experiences in autumn and winter, especially, there is clearly that the number of kindergarten which presents an experience to "eat" by a season except the summer is over 30 less than the number of it in summer. And also, from the following data, we understood that kindergartener and nursery staff does all kinds of things to fit a natural experience in the everyday life. 74.8% of all activity was performed in kindergartens. There was more the natural activity that they carried out on the sidelines of the regular life in kindergartens, for example, in walk time (37 activities), time for expression activity (81), and time for activities in garden (49).

      As basic materials for the review and renovation of kindergarten playgrounds, this study surveys the actual artificial mounds in the playgrounds of all municipal kindergartens and authorized centers for early childhood education and care in City S, categorizing their shapes and locations within the playgrounds. In addition, based on interviews with parents/guardians, it clarifies the actual state of children’s play on the artificial mounds. The survey found that the mounds could be categorized into a hill type and a type combined with play equipment. Categories of locations within the playgrounds included a type next to fixed play equipment and a free-standing type. Children’s actual play, as seen from the parents’ perspective, was analyzed according to the five areas of nursery care, with play in all five areas confirmed. The above enables a examination of the multivalent possibilities of artificial mounds, providing insight for the renovation of kindergarten playgrounds.

    This study focuses on the functions and characteristics of "the boundary" connecting classrooms playgrounds. "The boundary" is a unique, ambiguous, multi-functional, semi-outdoor space. Two kindergartens and two nurseries were observed, and data was collected about children's uses of "the boundary." The study clarified the commonalities and differences and the features of "the boundary" for every institution. The data were analyzed using a method modeled after Modified Grounded Theory Approach. The following four common characteristics of "the boundary" emerged: the junction of life and activities; strong relationships with the neighborhood; flexible life and activity space; and the periphery of life and activities. Seven common functions related to these characteristics were also identified. There are also related restrictions that make living in each facility difficult; therefore, it is revealed that "the boundary" has a unique meaning in each facility.

    本研究の目的は,片付け場面における経験内容を物とのかかわりという視点から明らかにすることである。3歳児男児の一年間の片付け場面を観察・記録し,得られた事例を,占有物・共有物とのかかわりの視点から分析した。片付け場面において,子どもは自分で占有し見立てたり創造したりして遊んでいた物を共有物に戻す過程を経験していた。その過程には,占有過程で得られた楽しさや物への愛着を基盤に,子ども自ら納得して物を解体し共有物に戻していく豊かな経験内容が含まれていた。また他者の創造物を通して他者の意図を読み取る経験を育む場面としての意義が明らかになった。
