The infrared spectra of six phosphates of (a) xenotime and (b) monazite from Ishikawa, Fukushima Prefecture, (c) apatite from Kurokura, Kanagawa Prefecture, (d) apatite from Durango, Mexico, (e) pyromorphite from Matsuhodo mine, Miyagi Prefecture, (f) vivianite from Ashio mine, Tochigi Prefecture and (g) autunite from Grafton, New Hampshire, U. S. A. are shown in Figure 2. All the spectra have broad bands at the 9 and 9.5 microns which are caused by PO
4 molecules.
