The multi-layer-zone smoke movement simulation model for single room configuration, presented in the previous paper, was extended to adapt a multi-room configuration. The model can predict the vertical distributions of the temperature and the gas concentrations in a building with multiple compartments without difficult setting and heavy computational burden. In addition, refinements were made on some physics modellings such as follows: 1. Radiation from the flame to the walls is incorporated into radiation heat transfer calculation. 2. The entrainment constant of fire plume is computed taking into account ventilation draft. 3. The ceiling jet temperature is calculated. Finally the prediction results were compared with fire experiment in a structure having multiple rooms for the validation of the model. As the result, it is considered that the model can be a practical tool to predict the behavior of fire for designing building.
