Sumitomo Kônomai Gold Mine has increased its daily capacity 1, 200 metric tons followed by the successive stage of mining and milling system extension, as a result of the discovery of new are bodies. The largest one hitherto discovered is Kucchiannai No. 5 vein, which is traced almost one mile in length with average width 15 feet.
Gold exists RS freestate and silver as argentite in banded streaks throughout the vein.
The main mining system is shrinkage stoping and sometimes associated by overhand stoping.
The milling system, briefly, consists of two stage grinding with cyanide solution in ball mill, followed by classification, thickening, agitation, filtration and Merrill Crowe vacume precipitation process.
The notable features of the plant are the adoption of especially large Dorr classifiers and, as a consequent, keeping their circulating load about 1, 000% in primary circuit and 800% in secondary circuit for the original feed, thus improving the grinding efficiency.
Thickening the pulp is made by large Dorr tray thickener by Genter thickenerafter agitation.
