will examine the question of the relationship between sports and shared community living through the analytical lens of baseball. It will set forth five prerequisites for baseball. Baseball’s diffusion and widespread acceptance and use that theoretical framework to elucidate the significance of the franchise system in Major League Baseball, Japan’s colonial rule in Taiwan, Manchuria, Korea, and Japan’s high school amateur baseball and professional baseball. Additional, the paper will highlight the Olympic Games, World Baseball Classic (WBC) and Hand Hit-ball as case studies of Japan’s symbiotic relations with the world.
