    We have developed a 50kg class microsatellite "

    HIBARI
    ". The mission of this satellite is to demonstrate a novel attitude control method for microsatellites which is called “Variable Shape Attitude Control (VSAC).” VSAC is a method using anti-torque by driving variable shape structures.
    HIBARI
    has four drivable solar array paddles, and demonstrates rapid attitude control using the reaction force that moves them.

    We have developed a 50kg class microsatellite "

    HIBARI
    ". The mission of this satellite is to demonstrate a novel attitude control method for microsatellites which is called “Variable Shape Attitude Control (VSAC).” VSAC is a method using antitorque caused by driving structures such as solar array paddles.
    HIBARI
    has four drivable solar array paddles and was launched by the Epsilon rocket in November 2021 under JAXA's “Innovative Satellite Technology Demonstration Program”. This paper describes the
    HIBARI
    mission overview, system overview, and ground tests at Flight Model (FM). The soundness of the system was confirmed in the vibration test, impact test, mass property measurement, and thermal vacuum test. To confirm the validity of the attitude algorithm and the system feasibility, we have developed the attitude dynamics simulator HiLS, including actual hardware components. The attitude control test using HiLS showed the problems of attitude control in the initial sequence and the effectiveness of the counter-measure. We also showed that
    HIBARI
    can perform agile attitude maneuver of 30deg/10s and a stable pointing control of 300arcsec/10s, which are part of Extra Success.

    This paper describes our work building and testing a concept to share information among operators of manned aircraft and small unmanned aerial systems (sUASs) using the same low-altitude airspace to reduce collision risk, which is an urgent issue due to the rapid growth of sUASs use in many countries. Our concept is to share the positions of manned aircraft and sUASs on a web-based UAS Traffic Management (UTM) platform and provide alerts that give the operators of sUAS sufficient time to land the sUASs before a manned aircraft reaches the designated minimum airspace distance necessary for separation from the sUASs. The purpose of this paper and the flight demonstrations is to investigate the feasibility and problems in building such a platform. This paper also reports on the latest sUAS situations, including regulatory discussions, operations, the experimental environment, and the required regulatory arrangements.

    The gender gap in internal rewards in the Japanese workplace is the subject of this study. Besides monetary rewards, such as wages or fringe benefits, workers also receive rewards that affect motivation and satisfaction in the workplace. Based on previous research, this study calls these types of reward an ‘internal reward’. The aim of this study is to consider whether a gender gap in internal rewards exists in the Japanese workplace. The study examines the extent to which theory - human capital or social closure theory-explains the gap in internal rewards. social closure theory proposed by Tomaskovic-Devey has two processes: the status closure process and the status composition process. The first means that women are more excluded as the quality of a job increases; the second means that a job is devalued the more women occupy a job category. To answer the research question as to which processes are at work, I conducted surveys in two large Japanese firms: One firm (

    In this paper, the results of the four times investigation carried out every three years since 1955, on the land price of the plots arround the border of the projected area of the
    Hibari
    -ga-oka housing estate, and the plots of Hoya area will be reported. When some land is purchased by Japan Housing Corporation (J.H.C.) for construction of a housing eastate, the land price arround projected area usually rises higher than the area without any project arround it (like Hoya). The areas selected for study are shown in Fig. 1-5. Land prices of the plots for shop in front of the stations are usually corelated with the number of the passengers getting on and off at the station, as shown in Fig. 2-6. In our case, the land priceof the plot (y) and number of the passengere (x) are also corelated as shown in Fig. 2-7. The relation between the land price per unit square of the plot for the residence (x) and the land price for the shop (y) is shown in Fig. 3-2. *) The

    The Wild Horse Chase in Soma called Soma Nomaoi, which has a 1000-year history, is a traditional sport that has existed overcoming many challenges to its survival and changing its style repeatedly as it adjusted to the changing historical periods. It has also become an important source for tourism. The style and tradition of the Nomaoi developed by the Soma clan in Oshu was established by around 1700, and has been held as a sacred ritual by three shrines, Nakamura, Ota and Odaka. Originally a samurai festival, a change in organizers prompted the inclusion of commoners. A lack of the wild horses also caused the festival to evolve into the contest for the sacred banners. Nomaoi was once dedicated to the god Myoken; however, it is treated as a sacred festival for the god Ame no minaka nushi no mikoto. The scheduling of the festival has also changed to make accommodate the practicalities of modern life while focusing on the inheritance of traditional culture. The cavalry that carries out the festival and the audience that observe the festival also play roles which dramatize the tradition of the festival.

    東京工業大学では松永研究室を主体として40kg級超小型衛星ひばりの開発を行っている.ひばりは太陽電池パドルを回転駆動することで衛星の姿勢制御をする「可変形状姿勢制御」の実証をミッションとする1, 2, 3).これは革新的なアクチュエータの実証としてJAXAが主導する「革新的衛星技術実証プログラム2」に採択され,2021年度内にイプシロンロケットによって打ち上げ予定である4, 5).ひばりの通信系では,S帯によるノミナル通信の他に,サブミッションとしてGlobalstar衛星コンステレーションを用いた速報通信を行う.図1に衛星外観を,図2に通信系システムダイアグラムを示す.本講演では,これらの通信システムの概要と開発状況を述べる.

    In this paper, a formation planning of research and development center for multi-functional smart space systems is introduced. A smart space system is defined as a component and/ or a system with multi-function and high-performance that are also convenient for users. In the center, we will research and develop the smart space systems and provide space project support services to researchers, engineers, customers and newcomers to space activities. In a plan, we will consider, for example, a machine learning based attitude sensor, lightweight high-rigidity expansion/storage boom and array, a deployable antenna for high speed communication as smart space components, and a microsatellite system with variable shape function as a smart space system. Also, information sharing service on on-orbit observation data and processing techniques, and utilization service of testing and operation facilities will be provided. We are aiming at creating space activities such as producing not only new space engineering and science but also space venture, space business, and so on, for the contribution to society.

      Lead-hexaferrite (PbFe12O19, shortly PbM) fine particles ranging from 0.038 to 0.6 μm in diameter, were synthesized by mist pyrolysis. Mist was generated by an ultrasonic nebulizer operated at f=2.6 MHz from an aqueous solution of lead (II) nitrate and iron (III) nitrate dissolved in distilled water. Single phase PbM particles were directly obtained from the solution with the molar ratio(Pb)/(Fe)=0.13∼0.23 of the solution, which is slightly high Pb concentration of the stoichiometric PbM composition (i.e.(Pb)/(Fe)= 0.083), after the mist passed through an electric furnace kept typically at 800°C. The particle shape was apparently sphere, but they were the agglomeration of finer PbM particles of 0.01μm in diameter. The magnetic properties at room temperature are: σs (saturation moment) = 56 emu/g, IHc (coercivity)= 4∼5 kOe, and (BH)max==0.7∼0.9 M G·Oe, which are the same magnitudes as in the reported values of PbM. Monocrystalline PbM particles were obtained by annealing amorphous particles at 1000°C in a short duration (∼5 min.) in air.

    We demonstrate a newly developed magneto-photonic crystal (MPC) based magneto-optic spatial light modulator (MOSLM) which was designed to enhance the performance of a conventional MOSLM, and describe the preparation and fundamental properties of it. By introduction of MPC, the magneto-optical property of MOSLM was improved, and as driving properties, the saturation of brightness was shown around ±1 kOe and the change occurred from about ±300 Oe by external magnetic field. Also, we conformed that Kerr rotation angle of this device was varied by applying voltage to PZT film. The change of each pixel by applying voltage, however, could not be detected because of the small variation of brightness.

    Streptomycetes, which belong to the Gram-positive bacteria, produce secondary metabolites and sporulate. The timing of starting the secondary metabolite production and the sporulation depends on environmental conditions such as nitrogen and carbon sources. In order to obtain a tool for understanding the regulation mechanism, we carried out screening for chemical substances that induce secondary metabolism and sporulation in Streptomycetes and found an active substance from the culture broth of Streptomyces sp. TP-A0584. This substance designated goadsporin promoted the formation of red pigment and sporulation at a concentration of 1 μM in Streptomyces lividans TK23 which does not produce the pigment under normal growth conditions. Goadsporin is an oligopeptide consisting of 19 amino acids with the molecular formula C72H97N19O20S2. Sporulation and/or secondary metabolite production was induced in 36 Streptomycetes strains among 42 strains tested. These results suggest that goadsporin acts on a common regulation pathway for sporulation and secondary metabolism in Streptomycetes and can be a powerful tool to analyze the regulation mechanism.

    The magneto-optic spatial light modulator (MOSLM) can modulate amplitude, phase, and polarization of optical wave front at high speed. However, past MOSLM requires large driving current. To overcome the disadvantage, we have developed the MOSLM with PZT layer driven by electric field and external magnetic field. The effective structure of the voltage-driven MOSLM was also investigated using finite element simulation. A magneto photonic crystal(MPC), which consists of dielectric mirror and magnetic defect layer, can largely enhance MO effect. The stress distribution calculation of MPC structure with good stress distribution and a large Faraday rotation was done based on a structure of a thin MO film.

    We investigated the effects of the biomechanical constraints of the human body on the visual recognition of body movements and view dependency. First, we made pictures of twenty-seven different body movements with three-dimensional computer modeling software. All of these movements were biomechanically possible. Twenty-seven impossible movements were then made by modifying the possible ones. A pair of these movements from a variety of viewing angles (0-180 deg) were displayed sequentially, and the subjects were asked if the movements were identical, or different, regardless of any difference in viewing angle. We observed that the recognition of the possible movements was better and more view independent, than for the impossible movements. The recognition of human body movements therefore, was affected by the biomechanical relationship of the body parts and movements.

    From the time a disaster strikes to the time of restoration and recovery, community FM broadcasting can be an important information source at the time of the disaster and for the restoration efforts in the affected region. While the value of community radio for information transmission during a disaster has been welldocumented, most previous research has not considered its role in the memory of disaster. This study shows that community FM broadcasting in disaster-stricken areas can play a supportive role in the making of a collective memory of the disaster, which can be important for future disaster resilience. In-depth interviews were conducted with staff members from 11 community FM radio stations in areas that suffered severe damages by the Great East Japan Earthquake. The study also analyzed regular programs related to the disaster and special programs on the Memorial Day of 3. 11 aired by 27 community FM stations in the region in 2018 and 2019. This study illustrates how FM broadcasting can create a ritual space for the intergenerational transmission of memories and, in this case, the re-imagining of a collective identity of “Us, the disaster-survivors’ community.”

    We investigated whether fMRI-derived cortical activity patterns induced by optic flow can predict the direction of heading. The cortical activity from hMT+, which is related to motion perception, led to good predictions. Focusing on the good performance of heading perception with eye movement, we also measured the cortical activity from an optic flow with eye movement. The decoder was trained with the activity patterns without eye movement and tested on those with actual eye movements, and vice versa. hMT+ exhibited a less robust, though still relatively the best, decoding performance. These results suggest that hMT+ is involved in heading perception and coding head-centric motion along with compensating for extra-retinal information. More generally, our study shows that decoding techniques can be used as effective tools in identifying the functions associated with cortical activity.

      Magneto-optical properties of composite films of magnetite fine particles solidified by polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) were investigated. The films were formed by spin-coating a mixed solution of magnetite colloidal suspension and PVA dissolved in distilled water on glass substrates and dried at various temperatures from room temperature to 200°C. With elevating drying temperature, the Faraday rotation θF decreases, and the optical transmittance, conversely, increases. The θF-spectrum varies in a manner that θF increases with wavelength in the visible region, takes a maximum at about 700nm and decreases with wavelength in the near infrared region. The films in which magnetite particles are aligned in chain clusters along the film thickness, were prepared by applying a dc magnetic field during drying process. We observed the anisotropy of θF in these films.

    Strain TP-A0121 which produces a complex of novel tyrosine kinase inhibitors designated hibarimicins A, B, C, D and G was considered to be a new subspecies of Microbispora rosea, and the name, Microbispora rosea subsp. hibaria, was proposed. Hibarimicins A, B, C and D specifically inhibited the src tyrosine kinase activity without affecting protein kinase A or protein kinase C. They also showed in vitro anti-Gram-positive bacterial and antitumor activities. The molecular formulae of hibarimicins A, B, C, D and G were assigned to be C85H112O37, C85H112O37, C83H110O36, C85H112O38, and C85H112O39 respectively.
