In Japan, children’s low motivation to learn and deterioration of mental health are problems. It is necessary to consider school facilities that contribute to these issues. In this study, a questionnaire survey was conducted to clarify the relationship between subjective evaluation of school environment and children's issues such as motivation to learn and mental health. As a result, elements such as ‘Peace of mind’ and ‘Classroom design’ have a direct influence on motivation to learn. Other elements such as ‘Noise & acoustics’ and ‘Thermal comfort / Air quality’ indirectly may affect motivation to learn and may also affect mental health.
