The article investigates difference in paper, writing style, characters, article, specific sign and seal related to anti-counterfeit layout and design of passport in Qing Dynasty between 1880 and 1911. The study has results as follows: 1. Most passports in Qing Dynasty used by "human", except the need of keeping stub and number for future reference, were not sealed on the perforation and number which provided an anti-counterfeit "verification". 2. As to "morphology" of passport in Qing Dynasty, the article finds that only officials could use the passport with dragon-framed pattern. Foreigners visiting China used the passport with straight-line frame. 3. Of all diplomatics in Qing Dynasty, passport was the document with the most discreet layout in issuance and anti-counterfeit function. The sealing procedure truly conformed to "Qi Jun Gai Yue" which had stronger anti-counterfeit function.

Since 1555 the Jesuits began missionary work in the Ethiopian Plateau, which was under the rule of the Solomonic Dynasty. P. Paez, a Spanish Jesuit, succeeded in inducing King Susneyos (r. 1607-1632) to be converted to the Roman Catholic. But the opposition to the activities of the Jesuits had grown so intense among the people that, in 1632, Susneyos was forced to proclaim the return to the faith of the Ethiopian Church. After that, King Fasilädäs (r. 1632-1667) banished the Jesuits.
    In the
    reign
of Susneyos, the leader of the pro-Catholic party was Se'elä Krestos, a half brother of this king. Se'elä Krestos patronized the Jesuit missions more eagerly than the king. According to the chronicle of Susneyos, in 1617, he appointed Se'elä Krestos to the office of Beht wäddäd, i. e. prime minister. But Se'elä Krestos could not dissuade the king from revoking the adherence to Roman Catholic. The purpose of this paper is to examine the influence of the political role of Beht wäddäd on the weakning of Se'elä Krestos' political power in the end of the
    reign
    of Susneyos.
    In conclusion,
    (1) In the
    reign
    of Susneyos, Beht wäddäd was the highest office, and in addition, this officer held the office of the provincial governor. One of the duties of Beht wäddäd was to participate in the national administration, but it did not always have influence on the decisions of the king;
    (2) Talallaq blattenoc gweta was virtually the most influential office in the court. This officer was responsible for military and non-military affairs;
    (3) In the end of the
    reign
of Susneyos, the anti-Se'elä Krestos party increased its power in the court. Most of Talallaq blattenoc gweta belonged to this party. Though Se'elä Krestos was Beht wäddäd, he held the office of the provincial governor concurrently, and did not always have influence on the decisions of the king. Therefore, he was placed at a disadvantage in the political dispute in the court. Such disadvantage led to the political weakness of Se'elä Krestos in the end of the
    reign
    of Susneyos.

The Seonjamdan altar of the Joseon Dynasty is the only remaining medium sacrifice-grade altar in Seoul. This study investigates the characteristics of the original altar, and explores changes in the Seonjamdan area in addition to historical conservation efforts. The construction of Seonjamdan in a northeastern region outside the capital city was an attempt by Joseon to fully comply with an exemplary Chinese tradition. The Seonjamdan altar was erected twice during the Joseon Dynasty: the first was built during the founding of the dynasty and its historical remains have recently been unearthed, and its second incarnation was in the 18th century and remained active until the country was liberated from Japanese rule. After the liberation, however, Seonjamdan served different purposes and was damaged through urban development and the invasion of urban infrastructure. As a result, the historical remains of the latter Seonjamdan, which was retained until the colonial era, completely lost their integrity and authenticity. In spite of its physical destruction and regardless of its authenticity, various measures have been taken in the Seonjamdan area for the protection and preservation of its intangible value.

The so called “Necropolis Journal” is a day-by-day record of Necropolis workmen at Thebes. Thus, the study of this kind of documents is important in understanding their administration.
In this paper I would like to focus upon one single typical text, the Papyrus Greg, which had long been unpublished, although it is well-known to the Egyptologist. Now, however, Prof. Kitchen's Ramesside Inscriptions contains a hieroglyphic transcription with a few textual notes. The document is now easily accessible. In these circumstances a comprehensive study of the Papyrus Greg (as well as the whole study of “Necropolis Journal”) has not yet appeared so far.
In this present discussion we deal with two points concerning this Papyrus and the “Necropolis Journal”; To what
    reign
does the Papyrus Greg belong? Some scholars believe it was written in the
    reign
of Ramesses III. We can read regnal year 5 to 7 in the Papyrus Greg but the king's name is missing. We take special notice of the “gap” in this papyrus. If this papyrus was written in the
    reign
of Ramesses III, we must suppose that about 12 months' entries of the recto and 13 months' entries of the verso are missing and must suppose a divergency of a month in the entries of the same length gap (between recto and verso). After considering the contents, we arrived at the conclusion that we cannot assume the existence of the gap—there is no gap. And this papyrus belongs to the
    reign
of Siptah/Tawsert. After discussing the dating of the Papyrus, we went on to investigate how to locate and understand the Papyrus Greg in the whole range of the “Necropolis Journal”.

This study aims at the impacts of the Kinmen's historical development on its overall furniture development. The methods include Document Analysis and Ethnography Research. The results indicate that there are two certain times, the Qing Dynasty and the Quest, that influence the development. From a political perspective, the style of furniture was united due to the rule of the Qing Dynasty. In a social aspect, the size of furniture varied according to the ranks of the official. Multiple forms of furniture were observed in the houses of businessmen at the time, as well. The other period was the Quest while a lot of Kinmen residences travelled to the Southeast Asia and came back after becoming illustrious and built majestic "fan zi lou (foreign buildings)". They also brought back the popular furniture, which were stilled in these buildings, from the Southeast Asia and made the culture of Kinmen's furniture more various.

This paper treats one of the more neglected types of materials in Indian historical writing, the Vamsavalis, and their importance for an understanding of certain medieval historical and literary works in Sanskrit.
The sources of Kalhana in his Rajatarafigini are briefly investigated, especially his use of the local vamsavalis, in comparison with the newly edited Gopalara-javamsavali of Nepal. The way the various dynasties have been listed in this Vamsavali, shows that the text itself already is a compilation of older, dynastic ones. The process can be summed up as follows : Juxtaposition of contemporaneous dynasties is replaced by serial position, that is, by interpolation or by positioning at the head of the list. This process also explains what has happened in many Puranas, a fact not sufficiently noticed by recent scholars.
When such dynastic Vamsavalis were used by later writers, changes such as overlap and serial ante-position of whole dynasties occur, and further, filling-in of gaps, repetition of the same dynasty or parts of it at various places in the list. The whole is complicated by the frequent change in local eras and by calculation mistakes resulting from this. Finally, there always was a strong tendency to fill in the gap existing between the start of the transmitted lists and the beginning of the Kaliyuga in 3102 B. C.
Kalhana's use of the Kashmiri Vamsavalis then explains the confusion which the recording of various “dynasties” in Rajatarafigini 1-3 has created for the early history of Kashmir before 600 A. D.-a fact not explained so far by modern scholarship.

At the beginning of the seventeenth century, the imperial authority of the Solomonic dynasty weakened while many regions around Lake Tana, the new center of the Christian Kingdom of Northern Ethiopia, were not yet subject to the emperors' rule and the influx of the Oromo continued. Susn_??_yos (r. 1607-1632), Fasilädäs (r. 1632-1667), and Yohänn_??_s I (r. 1667-1682), however, furthered the subjection of the regions. In this paper, the author considers one of reasons these emperors were able to strengthen their rule by examining the functions of two important officers, the B_??_ht wäddäd and the Talallaq blattenoc gweta.
The conclusion proposed is as follows: the emperors made the B_??_ht wäddäd maintain order in Gojam and its surrounding provinces; added military functions to the Talallaq blattenoc gweta in addition to duties as stewards to compensate for the absence of the B_??_ht wäddäd at court; and prevented these officers from having great influence on the national administration. It was one of reasons Susn_??_yos, Fasilädäs, and Yohänn_??_s I strengthened their rule that they lightened their military burden and limited the political power of these high officers.

For deflagration to detonation transition (DDT), several explanations on initiation have been given. Nevertheless, the knowledge on DDT is still insufficient for predicting where and when detonation occurs. In order to improve the reproducibility, an ethylene oxygen mixture was ignited forcibly by spark discharge behind an incident shock wave near the wall. The process of flame development was visualized by Schlieren imaging and analyzed by drawing several wave element trajectories on the shock waves ahead of the flame. As a result of varying the timing of spark discharge, detonation initiation was promoted as the boundary layer Reynolds number

    Reign
    increases. For
    Reign
of more than 5.0 × 106, DDT was caused at 45 ± 10 μs. The processes of flame development were classified as Mode 1 and 2, which denote
    Reign
of less than transition Reynolds number and more than it, respectively. Although the times for detonation initiation were markedly different in Mode 1 and 2, it was found that the both flame developments were similar. The accelerated flame near the wall propagates in upstream direction along the wall, resulting in approaching the shock wave front. This makes the shock stronger by coalescing of numerous compression waves. As the strengthened shock compresses the unburned gas, the flame was more accelerated, so that at the position where the flame front reached the shock front detonation initiation occurred. The difference of flame development between Mode 1 and 2 was observed in the initial stage in particular in the early 20 μs. Detonation initiation was caused at the position where following three conditions were satisfied: (1) A local Mach number reaches 2.4. (2) The flame front approaches and reaches the shock front ahead of it. (3) A concavity is generated on the flame/shock front, compressing the unburned gas coming into the point.

This paper attempts to analyze the nature, formation, and administration of the īnǧū in Iran under the Ilkhanate. The term īnǧū, derived from the Mongolian word emčü, refers to the private lands and subjects of Ilkhan, other Hülegüids, or other Chinggisids. During Abaγa Qan’s
    reign
, the influence of J̌öči, Čaγatai, and Ögödei families in Iran gradually fell and the īnǧū of the Hülegüids began to increase. Although an Ilkhan’s īnǧū formed during his
    reign
usually passed to the next Ilkhan, the Ilkhan’s sons had authority over the īnǧū that originated from before the Ilkhan’s enthronement. In contrast to īnǧū, the term dalāy was applied to dīwānī property administered by the supreme dīwān.

The constructions of most of the early gothic cathedrals were started under the
    reign
of Louis VII. This paper investigates the actual relationship between Louis VII and the construction of the cathedrals. Regarding the finances of the constructions, Louis VII gave economic aid in some case, but they weren't the great patronages. As for his power of ruling over the "royal bishopric", it reduced under his
    reign
. Thus. Louis VII wasn't the great patron of the early gothic style. The fact that the king renounced his right to deprive the bishops' possessions might help the construction of the gothic cathedrals.
