India is building its first High-Speed Rail (HSR) in the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Track. Apart from the stated objective to enhance the economic development it is not fully optimized in its economy and the rail technology. This paper discusses the current trends of HSR development in India. In addition, an example of India’s railway (IR) and the development of Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Railway (MAHSR) with the possible effects are discussed.
The Purpose of the paper is to understand the development of HSR in India. The paper explores with the experiences of international HSR countries and then introduces MAHSR.
